The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has granted suspended Ekurhuleni Deputy Police Chief Julius Mkhwanazi a postponement for his testimony.
Mkhwanazi had been subpoenaed to appear before the commission from 9 to 13 March 2026.
However, his legal representative requested a postponement to allow time to prepare for his further testimony.
The commission was also informed that Mkhwanazi is scheduled to undergo an eye operation on Tuesday, which further necessitated the delay.
After considering the request, the commission granted the postponement.
Mkhwanazi is now expected to return to testify before the commission on 23 March 2026.
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is investigating a range of allegations involving law enforcement officials and their alleged links to controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Proceedings at the commission continue.
