Johannes Khoza, 45, appeared in Mbibane Magistrate’s Court on 10 March 2025, facing charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The case was postponed to 7 May 2025 for further proceedings. Khoza’s first court appearance occurred on 3 March 2025, and he has remained in custody since then.

The charges stem from an incident on 1 March 2025, when the victim, at her workplace in Leeufontein, Vaalbank, was allegedly called outside by Khoza, her ex-boyfriend.

When she looked out a window, he shot her in the stomach before fleeing the scene. The victim was hospitalized and has since been discharged.

Following an investigation, police recovered a .38 Special revolver and live ammunition, hidden under a stone and wrapped in cloth in Khoza’s yard. He was arrested and charged accordingly.
