JACOB ZUMA DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL, MK PARTY CONFIRMS

Former president and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader Jacob Zuma has been discharged from hospital and returned home after spending more than a week under medical supervision for fatigue.

The party confirmed today, Saturday that the 84-year-old had rested and recuperated under the care of his medical team at Netcare St Anne’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

In a statement, the MK Party described Zuma as “healthy and jovial” and confirmed that he had resumed engaging in party matters ahead of the November 4 local government elections.

Zuma was admitted to hospital on October 6. His hospital stay sparked speculation about his health, although the party initially maintained that he had undergone routine medical checks.

The MK Party thanked his medical team and members of the public for their concern and messages of support.
