A grieving husband has shared the final moments he spent with his wife before she was brutally shot dead in Johannesburg in what police believe may be a targeted killing.
This is a news update from MDNtv, when things happen fast, you’re always in the know.
Chinette Gallichan was on her way to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration when she was gunned down on Monday morning. She was linked to work involving Sibanye-Stillwater.

Her husband, Keegan Gallichan, spoke to eNCA, describing a normal morning that turned into a nightmare.
“It was a perfectly normal morning. We woke up, got ready for work and I kissed her goodbye,” he said.

That goodbye would be their last.
Keegan said the last message he sent his wife was a simple “Have a good day” text at around 9am. Hours later, while at work in Pretoria, he came across a social media post reporting that a lawyer had been shot in Johannesburg.
Fearing the worst, he rushed to the scene.
“I arrived and saw her body on the street. I ran towards her but police stopped me because it was an active crime scene,” he said.
“In the car next to her I saw her phone, ID and keys. When they gave them to me, I knew it was my wife.”
Fighting back tears, he described the pain he now lives with.
“I don’t even know if I can put it into words. It’s dark, it hurts. Nobody deserves to die. The way it happened feels barbaric.”
Police have launched an investigation and no arrests have been made. Authorities believe the shooting may have been a targeted hit.
The incident has once again raised alarm over violent crime in South Africa, particularly attacks targeting professionals in major cities.
That’s the latest from Johannesburg.
