MDNtv News broke the news that Mduduzi and Musiholiq whose real name is Ncazelo Mtolo were no longer part of Inkabi Records.
Inkabi Records PR Manager Sange Mtukushe finally responded to the allegations.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce and bring clarity to some developments at our recording label. Over the past couple of years, we have seen great success from the emergence and growth of the record label. We pride ourselves on developing new and exciting talent, offering opportunities to young, ambitious, and highly talented individuals.

Mtukushe said Inkabi Records has managed to positively transform the lives of its artists.
“We have built and grown household brands that have contributed significantly to the music industry. Today, most of our talent is self-sustained and has developed their own businesses in the entertainment industry and other sectors. Most have managed to build sustainable lives for themselves and their families, and we are truly grateful for that.
“With growth comes change, and change is not a bad thing, but a sign of maturity and progress – an opportunity for the talent and label to expand and seek further opportunities. We would like to formally declare the following,” Mtukushe said.
Addressing Mduduzi’s departure, Mtukushe said his contract he come to an en.
“Mduduzi Ncube was the first artist signed by Inkabi Records, and his contract has run its course. As Inkabi Records, we are happy to announce that Mduduzi will be continuing his musical journey under his newly established label, Blackbird. We are excited to see him spread his wings as an artist, label owner, and executive. We wish him nothing but the best. It has truly been an amazing journey, with multiple successful releases, platinum records, and awards accumulated,” she said.
She said the separation is mutual, well-received, and fully supported by all parties.
“It is nothing more than growth. Our relationship remains strong, and we will continue to work on certain projects and opportunities together. Inkabi Records will continue its purpose of providing opportunities and developing new talent. We are happy to formally announce our latest signings, the beautiful, amazingly talented, and soulful artist “Starr Healer,” and the incredible musical genius, with amazing vocals and out-of-this-world writing skills, “Fanatic SA,” she said.
She further explained the situation of Musiholiq.
“Concerning Musiholiq, over the years he has always been a close friend and ally to the label and one of its founders (Big Zulu). Musiholiq was never signed under Inkabi Records, we have always shared a progressive working relationship that aids in supporting each other when needed. Musiholiq is a talented independent artist and a good friend to Inkabi Records. We will continue to align and work together on certain projects,” she said.
