The Director of Police at the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), Col. Thomas Garwo who is at the center of several recordings between him, Cllr. Jerome Verdier, Spoon Communication Network boss, Santon Witherspoon, Eugene Fahngon, and Skiekh Sackor has returned to the country from the United States of America.
Col. Garwo, upon his return to the country said everything he said against his boss Jefferson Koijee, Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation (CPP), were all ‘lies and that he was forced to do so’ thus describing the above mentioned individuals as “fake advocates.”
Explaining his ordeal to a team of journalists, Garwo maintained, “I want to acknowledge the Liberian people and demystify the false claims in a series of recordings that have been used as propaganda by some notorious criminals who are currently residing in America.” Col. Garwo told reporters after spending almost a month in the US.
The MCC police boss who spent approximately one month in the U.S asked rhetorically, “If I wanted to be in the circle of these men and say something bad about the government, would I risk my life to come to Liberia?
“Liberian people should not be fooled by those who are calling themselves advocates in America. They are lying and giving people money and telling them that they are advocating for them,” he added.
Report has it that Garwo is a member of a pastoral group called the Paramilitary and Military Network. He and many other security personnel applied for a program in the United States through the Paramilitary and Military Network.
According to him, although he and 13 other people from different institutions’ names came out successfully, he was the only person who was granted a visa by the American Embassy in Monrovia.
He said after he got his visa, he reached out to his boss, Mayor Koijee, at the Headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change in Congo and gave him the news about his travel, noting that the Mayor also facilitated his trip.
“The Mayor gave instructions to Director Prince K. Andrew to pay for my ticket and gave me money for the number of days I was going to be in the US. And after I left Mayor Koijee while driving home, Sackor, one of the persons on the recording, called me to discuss some issues about the MCC, including the events surrounding the death of Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott’s foster daughter, Chaloe Musu.
“I told him (Sackor) that I was driving and couldn’t continue our communication on the phone. He said, ‘okay, I will give you a number so you can talk to Congress One when you get home.’ I asked him who Congress One was, and he told me that he would talk to me when I was done driving. Afterward, I did not get back to Sackor until I left for the US,” Garwo explained.
“But In no time, Sackor called me and asked for my location. And he also said why you are in America and you can’t call me?’ I told him that I was busy. He told me that he was sending someone to pick me up and show me around and he would join us, and I said okay.”
Garwo continued, ‘The guy Sackor sent drove to me, and I can still remember the guy. We attended MC (Monrovia College) together, and the guy was working with NSA (National Security Agency) before. He is called Soko Sackor Jr.’
Garwo said the guy Sackor sent to pick him up came and carried him to his house, where he spent two days, and while at the house, he noticed the guy going outside of the house anytime he was having a conversation on his phone.
Col. Garwo added, ‘When I observed his movement, I decided to ask him, and he said, “My wife and I have an invitation to go to another state for a baby shower, and I can leave you (Garwo) alone. Besides, nobody can cook for you. So, Congress One will buy you a ticket, and you will go to him.”‘
He said, ‘The next day, Jerome Verdier called him and said, “I heard that you are in America. How is everything?” I told him that Sheikh told me that Congress One was going to call me, and he (Cllr. Verdier) told me, “I am the Congress One.” I asked him why he is called Congress One, and he told me because he works with the United States Department, he is the legal counsel for the Congress Department.’
‘We started taking photos, and later Sheikh got in his car, and later I saw him playing with his phone, and I told him not to post my pictures. He told me that he was not posting my photos,’ he said.
Garwo added, ‘In no time, I received a series of messages on my phone. My wife called me and said, “I thought you were supposed to be in Atlanta. Who did you take pictures with? I am hearing Prophet Key talking all types of things about you.”‘
He added, ‘Other people called me and told me, “Why did you have to take pictures with people who cussed the President? I told Sheikh about the pictures, and he told me sorry and that he would tell Prophet Key to take the picture down. So, I decided to relax because it was a strange area.’
Garwo said Spoon Communications Network CEO Witherspoon reached out to him somewhere in Jersey. ‘I saw Stanton Witherspoon, I saw Eugene Fahngon, I saw Alex Williams from LISGIS, and I saw two other guys. I don’t know their names,’ he said.”
“Witherspoon held my hand and said, ‘Welcome to America, your story will change.’ The discussion started, and Shiekh told me to tell them exactly what I know about Mayor Koijee. If you don’t know anything, then say the same thing we have been saying. I need you to say it and go exactly with our tones,” he said.
Garwo added, “I told them that I don’t know anything to say. They told me that if I don’t say anything, then I should find my way out of Jersey, and I didn’t know my way out.” He added, “In that moment, I tried to get into their cycle, and also Witherspoon went into his car and came back with a black plastic bag in his hands with money.”
He continued, “Sackor said that I should talk about something relating to the weapons that were found in the port, and I said, ‘Okay.’”
“I said, ‘Koijje brought a series of equipment for City Police that can even equip the army.’ So he (Witherspoon) said, ‘Yes, we are on course.’ I talk a lot, and Witherspoon took out $1,000 and gave it to me, but Fahngon and Shiekh fought over the money. They took $600 and gave me $400,” Col. Garwo said.
Garwo said Cllr. Verdier and his folks prepared his letter of resignation, something he says he rejected. “Jerome Verdier called me and said I have to do my letter of resignation. He said Soko Sackor Jr. will prepare the letter and send it to him (Cllr. Verdier), and he will edit it and send it to me for my signature.”
Garwo continued, “If you look at the letter they posted on Facebook, I have all the evidence on my phone. You will see my email from Soko Sackor to Jerome Verdier. How can a man write his letter and misspell his name? My last name is Garwo, not Garlo. How can a person write a letter and not sign it? So, I don’t know where they got that letter from.”
“Verdier told me that Witherspoon will help me. And I understand that Witherspoon is the financial man behind this propaganda. He used people and told them that he will protect them and give them a place in America,” he said.
Meanwhile, despite the revelations made by Garwo, Sackor posted on social media and described City Police Director as a spy for Mayor Koijee who is spreading lies.
“City Police Director Thomas Garwo Jr., alias ‘Spectacle,’ the sluggish and unsophisticated spy of Jefferson Tamba Koije. You lied that my cousin met you at the hotel in Atlanta, but the first picture here shows he picked you up at the airport. You lied that I heard you were in America and I asked you to come and see me, but these are the screenshots of our conversations.”
According to Sackor, when Garwo got his visa, he (Garwo) started giving him day-to-day updates until he landed in the US. “Your nonsense will not make us deviate from the guns and killings Koijee brought to the country and is doing to our Liberian people,” Sackor added.
