Olorato Mongale’s mother Keabetswe said she knew that something horrible had happened to her daughter while on her way to Johannesburg.
Speaking at her daughter’s funeral service at Mangaung City Hall yesterday 1 June, Mme Mongale revealed how a frantic phone call from a close associate informed her that Olorato had gone missing.
“As a parent, I felt that there was something wrong. Something was saying to me that Olorato was no more,” said the grieving mother.
She said she was left with beautiful memories of her daughter and added that she knew that Olorato put up a fight against her attackers.
“The last footage I saw of her, she was dressed in black, so on arrival in Johannesburg, I kept touching black plastic bags thinking that it was her. When I saw her at the mortuary, I knew that my daughter fought,” she said.
Mongale was buried at Bainsvlei cemetery.
