Media Statement HOOPSTAD – Members of Hoopstad Police Station led by Constables Mamothale Matladi, Gaopalelwe Mareko and Sergeant Tilaza Dikhutso together with Health Department and Education Department conducted an awareness campaign to empower school learners of Relekile. Learners were addressed at a stadium in Hoopstad about the impact of Domestic Violence, the various types of Domestic Violence and how to prevent it. The dangers of liquor and illegal drug abuse were thoroughly discussed and it was further emphasized that drug dealers be reported to the police, so that they can face the full might of the law. Representative from the Department of Health addressed learners about teenage pregnancy while the Department of Basic Education signed the Code of Conduct with learners and warned them about peer pressure. The children in these crèches Matshepo, Mmabana and Khumo Kiddies College were sensitized about stranger danger and that SAPS members are their friends. Ends
