Media Statement POLOKWANE – The police detectives in Hlogotlou arrested a 27-year-old man for a fatal stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday morning, 15 August 2024, in Hlogotlou policing area under the Sekhukhune District. Police were alerted about the incident and further directed to the local hospital, where the victim was admitted. Upon arrival, police found a 22-year-old woman with stab wounds and was already certified dead. Following the investigation, the suspect, aged 27, was arrested during the operation conducted at Kutupu and Mabintane in Hlogotlou policing. The weapon used to commit this murder was recovered. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased and the suspect were in a relationship. The motive behind the incident will be is currently not yet established, however domestic violence cannot be ruled out. The ongoing police investigation will reveal. The suspect will appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 August 2024, for a murder charge. Ends
