Media Statement FREE STATE – Police in Allanridge are seeking assistance from the public in finding relatives of the deceased, after a body of an unknown adult male was found floating face-down in a Stink Dam. On Tuesday, 31 December 2024 at about 17:30, police were summoned to the dam in Allanridge. Upon arrival, they discovered a body of an African male floating in the water facing down. The body was retrieved from the dam, and the deceased was found with blood stains around his neck. He is suspected to have been in the water for a while. The deceased was wearing pink tights and a brown top with no shoes. He is light in complexion, slender, average height, and has short hair and could approximately be in his 30s.
Police has opened an Inquest for further investigation and are appealing to anyone who might have information that could help locate the relatives or could assist with investigations to contact Investigating Officer Sergeant Tshidiso Mabaso of the Allanridge Detective Services on 082 466 8193 or the Crime Stop Number 08600 10111 or alternatively information can be sent via the MySAPSApp.
