WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape division of the High Court of South Africa in Cape Town, granted the Hawks’ Priority Crime Specialised Investigation team (PCSI) in collaboration with the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) a preservation order of a Ford Ranger bakkie with its value estimated at R622 865, on 03 February 2023 against two brothers, Ignettius Ezimorah and Kenneth Ezimorah. The PCSI team received the order on 19 February 2025. This follows the duo’s arrest on 08 December 2023. It is reported that the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) team, Western Cape received information about a person dealing in drugs. A search warrant was obtained and executed on 08 December 2023. Upon searching, drugs to the value of R5.8 million as well cash were found in the Ford Ranger bakkie which was used as an instrumentality in the commission of an offence by transporting drugs. During a search and seizure, more drugs and money were found at a premises in Century City. This led to the preservation order being granted on the vehicle. Kenneth has since been out on R20 000 bail, whereas Ignettius is still remanded in custody and the matter is postponed to the 26 March 2025 for plea and trial. Ends
