Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation in collaboration with Crime Intelligence have on 14 November 2024 arrested a 47-year-old suspect. On 21 October 2024, the security staff of Eskom reported that a sensor pipe in the reactor plant 2 at Eskom Koeberg Nuclear Plant, worth over R2 million, was damaged. The plant is currently under maintenance. The matter was investigated by the Hawks and it was established that one of the workers from a contracting company was responsible. The suspect was identified and warrant of arrest was issued hence his arrest. He will make his first appearance in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court on 15 November 2024. Ends
