POLOKWANE – A 33-year-old suspect has been nabbed for allegedly raping her girlfriend’s daughter aged 15, during March and June 2023 at Spitspunt village, in Matlerekeng policing area. According to information, the victim disclosed this disturbing incident to her mother, on Sunday, 28 April 2024, after her mother and the suspect (her mother’s boyfriend) had a heated conversation about their relationship. It is alleged that the victim raped the victim twice on different dates. The first incident happened while her mother went on shopping and the second when she went to work. After the victim informed her mother, the suspect fled the scene. The Police were notified about the incident, and rape case was opened against the suspect. The case was transferred to Groblersdal Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, for further investigations. On Monday the suspect was traced and arrested at his hideout in Lefiso village The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest and commended the investigating officer for ensuring that the suspect was behind bars. He will appear before Siyabuswa Magistrate’s Court for rape on Thursday, 02 May 2024.
