KOMANI – A 25-year-old suspect has been arrested by police following the allegations that he murdered his grandfather at Sizani Street, Mlungisi Township, Komani on Friday 30 August 2024. According to information, it is alleged that on the abovementioned date at about 17h00, the community alerted the police about a murder scene at Sizani Street, Komani. On police arrival, they found a 90-year-old man sitting in his chair covered with a blanket. The man had a stab wound on his throat. A case of murder was opened for investigation. Preliminary investigation was done, and the grandson was taken in for questioning at Mlungisi SAPS. On investigation police discovered that the grandson is responsible for the murder of his grandfather. He was immediately arrested and charged with murder. He is appearing at Komani Magistrate Court on Monday, 02 September 2024 The Chris Hani District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph has expressed his shock and sadness on such barbaric acts that claimed the life of a defenceless elderly man. “SAPS will work together with NPA to ensure the successful prosecution.
