Media Statement EAST LONDON – After the video that went viral of a 4-year-old boy who was unfairly treated by Santa Claus at East London, they decided to organize a very special moment for the kids. Police members, together with external stakeholders led by the Buffalo City District Commissioner Major General Christopher Wright and the Member of Parliament Mrs Helen May visited the 4-year-old boy’s home on Tuesday, 31 December 2024 at Gonubie, East London. One of the SAPS members dressed up as Santa Claus and made a surprise visit to the boy’s home at Gonubie. The excitement was written all over his face as they approached his home, and he came out running and was cuddled by Santa Claus. It was a joyful day for him and his sister, and gifts were given to them by Santa Claus, and they were excited.
The team also extended their hands to needy kids around A Section, Mzamomhle Township, Gonubie, where they handed out food and clothes to the needy kids. The community members and kids were very appreciating of the gesture by the team. It was a memorable last day of 2024 to the parents and children of the Gonubie area.
