GAUTENG – On Friday, 08 November 2024, Major General Fred Kekana, Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng: Policing, bestowed the ranks on twenty seven (27) newly promoted Officers whom will be serving a wide range of critical management and operational services across the Province The ceremony took place at the Gauteng 10111 Command Centre in Midrand where Major General Kekana assisted by Brigadiers K Govender, MP Joseph, LTL Mere, MA Maphoto and JM Makaba conferred the ranks upon Lieutenant Colonels JF Scholtz, G Mabanga, S Sihlangu, LA Ramashala, SK Takalani, MZ Kumalo-Sebolao, PWD Kruger, TE Botha, PN Tsinyane, NS Phele and PJ Strydom. In further events, Captain ranks were conferred upon S Molotsi, CJ Botha, ST Ramohloki, MJ Mabuza, PS Fick, GD Senosi, J Modise, Z Thoms, OS Nene, TP Ndopu, TE Mabuya, NO Masethla, LD Nkanyane, RZ Lebudi, SK Manamela and PC Marakalala. Major General Kekana congratulated Colonels ME Kgole, SE Magalefa and BM Lethoko whom had already been bestowed their ranks in a previous function as well as all the Officers at the ceremony. They were told their ranks were by the grace of God and at His timing. The Officers were advised to treat their promotion with respect as with the people around them. The door has been opened for them to be exemplary and conduct themselves in such a manner. The execution of their duties will be judged by their honesty, integrity, good ethics and teamwork.
The ceremony was concluded by Major General Kekana wishing the Officers all the best in their new ranks and advising them to always be a good ambassador to the South African Police Service.
