Media Statement PARKTOWN – Gauteng police have made a significant breakthrough in combating counterfeit goods. The police seized 1,986 illicit goods worth R 462 370-00 during an Intelligence driven operation conducted on Wednesday, 30 October 2024, in Meyerton CBD. The operation was a collaborative effort between the Gauteng Counterfeit Goods Police Unit, SAPS Meyerton, Gauteng Crime prevention wardens, Siyabangena patrollers, and local CPF. The police seized goods including perfumes, cellphone accessories, consumable goods, pharmaceutical products, illicit board games, figurines, cards and building blocks. During the operation two suspects were arrested for being in the country illegally and will appear before the Magistrate court soon.
