Media Statement NELSPRUIT – During Operation Vala Umgodi in Mpumalanga, four suspects, aged between 27 and 32 were arrested by the proactive team on Monday, 14 April 2025. Their arrest was realised during the period when members were conducting stop-and-searches at Witbank CBD. They then came across four undocumented foreign nationals. It was during this period when the astute members apprehended these individuals. The suspects were charged for Contravention of the Immigration Act of South Africa, and they appeared at the Witbank Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 16 April 2025. The suspects were identified as follows: Ivan Madonsela (27) Kabano Jafari (27) Glory Tuma (26) will appear again on 05 May 2025, while Hendry Amuri will appear again on 20 May 2025. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr.) Zeph Mkhwanazi continues to express his appreciation to the great work performed by dedicated members assigned for Operation Vala Umgodi in the province.
