CHRIS HANI – Four suspects aged between 30 and 37 will appear before Komani Magistrate’s Court on Monday 13 January 2025 for allegations of dealing in drugs, possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen property. The suspects were arrested by the Chris Hani District Task Team during Safer Festive Season Operation conducted at Mlungisi on 10 January 2025. During the operation, 17 persons and 9 homesteads were searched. It is alleged that from 4 homesteads drugs in the form of tik and boss mandrax tablets with an estimated collective cash value of more than R 5 500-00 were seized during the operation. In one of the homesteads, gadgets in the form of laptops, cellphones, tablets with an estimated cash value of more than R30 000 were allegedly seized as the suspect could not give a satisfactory answer for being in possession of the items. The suspects were arrested and are due to appear before Komani Magistrate’s Court on Monday 13 January 2025. The vigilance and determination of the Task Team is once more commended by the District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph as it will impact positively in the uprooting of criminal activities in the area.
