Four Missing Men Found Dead in Ferrobank
A grim discovery has shattered the community of eMalahleni after the bodies of four men, who went missing last week, were found dumped in an open field next to a gravel road.
The discovery was made in the Ferrobank industrial area on Monday.
According to Vosman SAPS officials, the breakthrough came after an alert community member noticed the remains and immediately notified the authorities.
Responding police officers and emergency medical services arrived at the scene to find all four African males lifeless and in an advanced state of decomposition. Paramedics officially pronounced them dead at the scene.
Family members of the missing individuals rushed to the site following the gruesome discovery. Out of the four victims, three have been positively identified by their grieving relatives.
The identity of the fourth man remains unknown at this stage.
Vosman SAPS spokesperson Colonel Vusi Mahlangu confirmed that the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) has meticulously processed the scene for any forensic evidence.
The remains have since been transported to a local mortuary for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death.
“The team is working around the clock to uncover every little detail of what happened,” Colonel Mahlangu stated. “We are out seeking possible evidence so that we can give a proper account of what happened, which could have led to the deceased losing their lives.”
While community reports suggest the men may have gone missing from a local mine, authorities have maintained that the exact circumstances surrounding how they died and how their bodies ended up at the location remain unclear.
An inquest docket has been opened, and police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
