Media Statement POLOKWANE – Members of Lephalale Vispol, Detectives and Crime Prevention Unit apprehended four male suspects, aged between 25 and 47, for cases of housebreaking and theft during an operation conducted in the early hours of Sunday, 20 October 2024. The members operationalised information about a group of suspects who committed business burglary that occurred at one of the offices of Eskom on a farm in Lephalale, Waterberg District around 11 and 14 October 2024. The store rooms were forced open, and items worth R250000,00 were stolen. The suspects were tracked down, found in a shack at Marapong Extension 4, and several electrical items were recovered during the arrest: one Circular saw, one Kauffman hammer, one Pop rivet gun and one freedom won Etower Battery, Solar panels, galvanized welded wire mesh rolls and a bush cutter. The total value of items recovered is estimated at R55000-00. The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has applauded the team for their sterling job. “This province won’t stop to pursue all these criminals until they are apprehended, brought before a court of justice, and dealt with severely in terms of the law.” The four will appear at Lephalale Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of housebreaking and theft and possession of suspected stolen property.
