Four Arrested Over Alleged Fraudulent Waterkloof Lease To Appear In Court This Morning
Police have confirmed that four suspects,”two men and two women arrested in Gauteng on Tuesday in connection with an alleged fraudulent Waterkloof lease will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court this morning on fraud charges.
According to police, one of the four suspects was already in custody as an awaiting-trial prisoner and was served with a warrant of arrest while in detention. The other three were arrested at different locations in Gauteng following an investigation by Gauteng Counterintelligence Operations into the alleged use of fraudulent documents to obtain properties.
MDN News has reliably learned that two of the suspects are Tsakane Matlala and Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala. The identities of the other two suspects have not been confirmed.
The investigation includes an allegedly fraudulent R95,000-a-month lease for a luxury property in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria. Almost R1.2 million was reportedly paid upfront for the lease.
Police have said the broader investigation involves allegations that fraudulent documents were used to acquire properties across Gauteng.
