Former President Jacob Zuma Reportedly Admitted To a Hospital In Pietermaritzburg

Former South African President and uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) leader, Jacob Zuma, has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, after falling ill.

According to initial reports emerging late on Tuesday night, 6 October 2026, the 84-year-old former statesman became unwell earlier in the day while attending an event in Msinga in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

An eyewitness at the facility reported that Zuma arrived at the hospital via ambulance and was subsequently admitted.

At this stage, the specific nature of his illness remains unknown, and his medical condition has not been disclosed.
