Media Statement GAUTENG – Shadrack Mashele (42) a former financial manager at the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) South Africa was on 26 July 2024 found guilty and convicted on four (04) counts of fraud after defrauding employer of over R650 000. Between 30 April and 18 May 2015 Mashele a financial manager submitted fictitious invoices purporting to be from the suppliers of the company, in which they were paid believing that these invoices were legitimate. Mashele defrauded the employer through (04) fraudulent invoices. The matter was reported to Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Pretoria and investigation revealed that all four invoices submitted were fraudulent. On 23 November 2015, Mashele made his first appearance at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court after summons to appear in court was issued. On 26 July 2024 the accused was found guilty and convicted on (04) counts of fraud and the matter was postponed to 30 September 2024 for sentencing. Ends
