Former Daily Thetha host Kini Shandu is making a highly anticipated return to television. Shandu, who previously hosted the popular weekday SABC 1 reality talk show, has landed a major new gig.

The media personality initially rose to fame during his time at Durban’s leading radio station, Gagasi FM.

He has now secured a rare opportunity to host a brand-new current affairs show titled Lentswe La Hao, which will air on the popular DStv channel Moja Love.

According to two close sources, Shandu has already begun filming the show.

The program focuses heavily on current affairs and is specifically designed to cover the highly anticipated Local Government Elections scheduled for November 4th.

“It is long overdue. Kini has been waiting a long time for this opportunity to return to TV and do what he does best, which is presenting,” the first source revealed.

“What he appreciates most about this deal is that it gives him a platform to engage with citizens on current affairs. The political dynamics of the country are quite fascinating at the moment. Everyone has an opinion, and there is no better place to foster these debates than on television.“

Another industry insider told MDN News that Lentswe La Hao is being helmed by prominent television producer Linda Hlabane.

“He is going to be working with an excellent team. With Linda driving the production, I am confident they will deliver a massive hit. She never disappoints, and the viewership numbers on her other shows are always amazing,” the second source added.

“They have already started filming on a once-a-week schedule. This ensures the show does not clash with Kini’s other commitments in KwaZulu-Natal, where he famously runs his own public relations company.”

When contacted for comment, Shandu declined to share details about his new venture. He stated only that the channel would officially communicate with media houses when the time is right.

Moja Love spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete also declined to comment, offering a strict “No comment.”

Currently, Shandu serves as a presenter for the KZN Tonight Podcast, a prominent digital current affairs and political talk show that he co-hosts alongside freelance multimedia journalist Sihle Mavuso. Styled as “the podcast for the people of the Zulu kingdom,” the digital platform focuses heavily on KwaZulu-Natal provincial governance, traditional leadership dynamics, and national South African politics.
