NORTHERN CAPE – Kuruman Regional Court granted Hawks Asset Forfeiture Investigation and National Prosecuting Authority ‘Asset Forfeiture Unit a forfeiture order worth R20 000.00 against Mr Iton Gumbo (33) on Tuesday, 01 April 2025. During April 2024, members of Provincial Organised Crime received information regarding people intending to sell pangolin around Kuruman area. A blue Hyundai fitting the description of the vehicle used/reported in the commission of crime was spotted on the N14 road. Three male accused were arrested for possession of endangered species (pangolin). The vehicle was also seized. The matter was therefore referred to the Hawks Asset Forfeiture Investigation, together with the Asset Forfeiture Unit for further investigation which resulted in the successful gathering of forfeiture.
