Media Statement SENEKAL – The Senekal police arrested a foreign national (21), who was on the run at Arlington after he allegedly killed his business friend at the Matwabeng-Tambo section tuck shop. It’s alleged that on 24 October 2024 at about 06:30, a security guard was dispatched at the local Tambo section tuck shop. On his arrival, a man got out of the tuck shop, running away. He inspected inside the shop and found another man lying in a pool of blood on the floor. The police were summoned to the crime scene and found the shop owner, also a foreign national, with an open wound on the forehead and an iron rod next to his body. The deceased was positively identified by his brother as a 35-year-old Ethiopian citizen whose name cannot be disclosed before the family has been officially notified. It is further alleged that the two stayed together in the shop, and the suspect (21) was employed at the tuck shop. The suspect was traced and arrested at Arlington, trying to escape the area. He has been charged and expected to appear before the Senekal Magistrate Court on Monday, 28 October 2024, facing charge of murder.
