Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE- Priority Crime Specialised Investigation team and Assets Forfeiture Unit (AFU) in the Northern Cape division were granted a final forfeiture order against the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Department of Roads and Public Works, Bradley Slingers (58), by the Kimberley High Court on Thursday, 07 November 2024. Slingers was arrested on November 16, 2023, during a roadblock near Ultra City on the N12, where the police found him transporting large sums of cash amounting to R200 000 in his vehicle. While further searching the vehicle, the police discovered three other bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash. A total amount of R679 200 was recovered from his vehicle. Upon questioning, the accused was unable to provide proof or a reasonable explanation for the money that was found in his possession. The police seized the money and an inquiry docket was opened for investigation. Further investigation pertaining to this matter is ongoing. Ends
