FREE STATE – Fezile Dabi District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, led a community engagement initiative at Kroonstad CBD and Maokeng Mall. The event showcased unity and commitment to safety, as the Fezile Dabi District, Community Police Forum, and community patrollers joined forces. The purpose of the operation was to create visibility, build trust, and strengthen relationships between the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the community. The operation commenced at Kroonstad CBD, where the District Commissioner engaged with the community on safety tips at home, in the CBD, and at ATMs. Pamphlets on safety tips, substance abuse, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) were distributed. A convoy, with blue lights and police sirens, proceeded to Maokeng Mall, where the District Commissioner interacted with shoppers and addressed their concerns. Major General Makubo encouraged the community to join the Community Police Forum (CPF) and community patrollers to work together with the SAPS to combat crime.
The operation concluded with a convoy around Maokeng.
