Elderly man stabbed and robbed while urinating in KZN
A 65-year-old man was robbed and stabbed while urinating in a bush on Edmund Morewood Street in Trurolands, KZN, on Saturday.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called to the scene at around 10h48 AM. Upon arrival, officers found the pensioner bleeding from a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim explained that he had been walking to Tongaat’s central business district from his home in Belvedere when he stopped to relieve himself.
During the act, he was approached by a lone assailant who pulled out a knife and demanded his valuables. The elderly man attempted to resist but was stabbed in the process. The suspect stole the victim’s cash before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim managed to seek help from nearby bystanders and was transported to a local clinic for medical treatment.
The suspect remains at large.
