Media Statement KIMBERLEY – The Search and Rescue Unit members attached to Operation Vala Umgodi in Kleinzee on Sunday, 15 December 2024, received information regarding an elderly man who went missing in Kleinzee. Warrant Officer Mitchell Diedericks, Sergeant Cornell Titus, Sergeant Marlon Cloete, Constable Ettiene Isak, and K9, Leroy acted swiftly to attend to the missing person report. The members proceeded with the search and found the missing person unharmed, however dehydrated. The man, who is 75-years-old, was reunited with his family in Kleinzee. The Detective Commander posted at Vala Umgodi in Kleinzee, Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Mokone, commended the members who responded to the call and went the extra mile in locating and saving the life of the elderly man. The public is reminded that there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
