Eight Suspects Arrested in Separate Murder Cases Across Garden Route

Police in the Garden Route District have arrested eight people in connection with unrelated murder cases, following a series of violent incidents across the region.

The first case unfolded on Saturday in George, when officers responded to an altercation in New Dawn Park. They discovered a 25-year-old man with a fatal stab wound to the chest. Despite swift medical assistance, he was declared dead at the scene. A 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court.

A second incident occurred in Kranshoek, near Plettenberg Bay, where police found a 26-year-old man collapsed on Ted Brown Street. He had also suffered a stab wound to the chest and died before medical help could arrive. A 26-year-old woman was arrested and will face charges in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court.

In a separate breakthrough, Riversdale police, working alongside the Public Order Police in George, arrested six suspects aged between 19 and 26. The group is linked to the April killing of 30-year-old Lourens Ntozini, who was found severely injured on Varkie Street and later died in hospital. Another suspect, already in custody for a different case, will also be charged, bringing the total number of arrests in that matter to seven.

The arrests mark a major step in tackling violent crime in the district, as police continue to intensify operations aimed at bringing justice to victims and their families.
