EFF Western Cape is disturbed by the content contained in an audio recording that is making
rounds on social media where in a young girl of about 15 years old is said to have had
multiple sexual intercourse with men who are old enough to be her father in an escort kind
of an arrangement in Parklands. It is also said that she and her friends would be lured and
promised money by these sexual predators and once they get trapped into this drugs and
alcohol induced environment, that is when they get violated, sexually.
The frightened 15 year old victim could be heard telling her mother that the 30 year old
perpetrator also had unprotected sex with her at some point after he offered her alcohol.
According to sections 15 and 16 of the South African Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and
Related Matters) Amendment Act of 2007, “a child is a person under the age of 18 years; or
(b) with reference to sections 15 and 16, a person 12 years or older but under the age of 16
years…” and as per the law, the victim is still a child and therefore minor. The law further
states that any sexual intercourse with a child or someone below the age of consent is
regarded as rape. What happened in Parklands is an indictment on society that has failed
to protect the girl child from these hyenas who groom, traffic and prey on young girls and
women for their sexual gratification.
As the EFF in the Western Cape we call on the law enforcement to arrest these rapists who
violate the bodies of young girls and women. To us a rapist is a rapist and as well as a
criminal is a criminal and they must be treated as such regardless of their nationality and
social status. Furthermore, as the party, we call on society to protect their children from
these scoundrels who deliberately turn our communities into human trafficking zones and
sexual grooming quarters for men who have lost their moral compass.
