Today, March 20, 2025, the Randburg Magistrates Court dismissed the attempted murder case against Edwin Sodi after he reached an out-of-court settlement with his estranged wife, Nthateng Lerata, and the other complainant, Faizal Motlekar.
Both parties indicated they no longer wished to pursue the charges.
The case, which stemmed from a March 2022 incident at Sodi’s Bryanston home, involved allegations that Sodi had attempted to shoot Lerata and assaulted Motlekar with a firearm.
Following the settlement, the legal proceedings were officially dropped.
