Durban’s taxi shutdown has been called off following late-night talks between the provincial transport department, city officials, and the taxi industry.
The strike, led by Santaco, left many commuters stranded on Thursday as operators protested the impounding of their vehicles.
Transport MEC Siboniso Duma confirmed that a dedicated task team will now work with the industry to resolve ongoing disputes and prevent further disruptions.
