Media Statement HUMANSDORP – The movement of drugs in Sarah Baartman District was interrupted by members of Humansdorp Crime Prevention Unit that was out on patrol along the R102 yesterday, 27 April 224 at about 13:30. Members attached to Humansdorp Crime Prevention Unit were patrolling along the R102 when they received information that a white Hyundai vehicle is traveling towards Humandorp transporting drugs. Members spotted a white Hyundai and tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and Police gave chase with the assistance of Community Service Centre. Two suspects jumped from the moving vehicle near Boskloof, and the vehicle went off the road as two more suspects jumped out of the vehicle. Members managed to arrest all four suspects and upon searching the vehicle, two bags containing one thousand six hundred (1600) Mandrax tablets were found with an estimated street value of about ninety six thousand rand (R96 000-00). The suspects are due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate Court on Monday, 29 April 2024. The Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Major General Zolani Xawuka, applauded the members involved for the excellent work done in ensuring that drugs are confiscated. Ends
