TSHWANE – As part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations within the Wierdabrug SAPS policing precinct, in collaboration with the E2 partnership, which includes multiple private security companies, another successful drug-related arrest was executed in the early hours of Wednesday, 19 March 2025. At approximately 06:00, members of Wierdabrug SAPS and the Tshwane District Drug Task Team executed a search warrant at the residence of a suspected drug dealer. This operation followed an intensive intelligence-gathering process after credible information was received. The suspect had been under surveillance for a period, during which his movements and modus operandi were closely monitored by a multi-stakeholder team. Based on the intelligence gathered, and with a search and seizure warrant in place, a well-coordinated takedown operation was planned and executed. As the suspect was preparing to leave his residence in Rooihuiskraal, police members, who were strategically positioned, took decisive action as he opened the door. The suspect was immediately presented with the search warrant, and a thorough search of his residence was conducted. Several small ziplock bags containing a white substance, believed to be CAT, were recovered. The suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs. The suspect’s details will be submitted to the Department of Home Affairs for verification to determine his legal status in the country.
Major-General Samuel Thine commended the team for their dedication and continued efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of Tshwane residents.
