Media Statement BOTSHABELO – Two individuals, a 34-year-old Nombulelo Pheko and a 39-year-old Dlamini Ramosoeu, initially arrested for conspiracy to commit murder, will now face murder charges following the confirmation of DNA test results. The Provincial Organized Crime Unit was alerted to the discovery of a burnt body of an unknown male in July 2024 near Dealsville. Due to the condition of the remains, DNA was extracted and sent for analysis. On 19 February 2025, the investigating team, led by Captain Sekgo, received confirmation that the DNA matched a family member of Pesa Pheko, who was reported missing. He was last seen leaving his home in L-Section to travel to Bloemfontein by public transport for a hospital appointment. The suspects are currently in police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on 25 March 2025 to face charges of murder.
