The bail application for murder-accused Katiso “KT” Molefe, alleged mastermind behind the killings of DJs Sumbody and Vintos, took a dramatic turn in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
Defence lawyer Adv. Michael Hellens accused the State of distorting facts to sway the court’s decision, pointing out that an investigator falsely claimed Molefe travelled to the UK in 2024. The State admitted the error but still argued Molefe is a flight risk, citing his 2004 arrest in the UK for cannabis dealing using a bogus passport.
The court is expected to deliver its ruling on Molefe’s bail next week.
