Media Statement BOJANALA SUB DISTRICT BRITS – Subsequent to torrential rains experienced in the province recently, four bridges in Klipvoorstad in the Jericho policing precinct were damaged, thus residents had no means to enter or exit the village including through vehicles due to flooded roads. On Saturday, 22 February 2025, the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality’s Disaster Management arranged 10 x 25kg food parcels, which were delivered via Mr Kobus Grobler’s helicopter. Attempts are underway to assist more members of the community. Meanwhile, in Assen members are using Vaalkop road to access some of the areas which were inaccessible due to flooding. Once more and through assistance of Mr Makgale, the Manager of District Disaster Management Centre, food parcels have been arranged for the stranded community in Assen and for distribution today.
