District Commissioner welcomes recipients of Eastern Cape Service Excellence Awards

EASTERN CAPE – One of the highlights during the Eastern Cape Service Excellence Awards on Saturday last week, was the clean sweep that was made by the Community Police Forums from Sarah Baartman District that took all the three top positions in the category of CPF of the Year.  Apart from the CPFs, which were congratulated by the District Commissioner, six (06) other individuals or groups  received the awards and were also celebrated during a special function that was held in Humansdorp on Tuesday.

Sarah Baartman District received a total of nine awards during the SAPS Eastern Province Service Excellence Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Boardwalk Hotel, Casino and Convention Centre on Saturday, 11 January 2025.  The recipients of the awards were as follows:

·         Category of CPF of the Year
1.    Sarah Baartman District CPF Board
2.    Jeffreys Bay CPF
3.    Humansdorp CPF

·          Category of Police Station of the Year: Small (Captain)
1.    Rietbron SAPS

·         Category of Vispol Team of the Year
Joubertina SAPS Crime Prevention team became the first runners-up

·         Category of Admin Employee of the Year
Cleaner, Ms S Green was the first runner-up
·         Category of Person with Disability of the Year
Captain D. Doubell was the first runner-up

·         Category of Admin Team of the Year
Alexandria SAPS Support Services Team

·         Provincial Commissioner’s Special Award
Cookhouse SAPS Highway Patrol Team

Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Major General Zolani Xawuka said, “The winners in their categories, are going to represent the province in the National Service Excellence Awards, which are scheduled to take place in Kwazulu Natal this month.  I would like to encourage you to work very in preparation for the next awards, and also encourage others to partake in the Excellence Awards”, concluded Maj Gen Xawuka.
