Mfundo Thikazi has finally addressed long-standing rumours linking him with Kaizer Chiefs — was there ever an offer?
The Casric Stars winger was heavily linked with a move to Naturena during his time at Royal AM.
That is where he first established himself as one of the Betway Premiership’s most exciting attackers.
And speaking to FARPost this week, Thikazi revealed the truth behind the speculation.
“I used to hear that Kaizer Chiefs wanted me from the media… but I was never told me anything,” said Mfundo Thikazi.
The 26-year-old made it clear that despite the noise, nothing concrete ever came his way.
“I used to see it on social media… but that wasn’t in my mind. I just focused on my work and scoring goals,” he added.
Thikazi enjoyed four solid seasons at Royal AM, becoming a key figure with his pace and skill.
However, the club’s collapse — linked to financial troubles involving owner Shauwn Mkhize — forced him to move on.
A short stint at Richards Bay FC followed, before he landed at first division side Casric Stars.
Now, Mfunso Thikazi is focused on helping Casric fight for promotion.
They are also chasing Nedbank Cup glory, with a semi-final clash against Durban City FC this weekend.
Despite the missed move to Kaizer Chiefs, Mfundo Thikazi’s focus remains clear: perform on the pitch and let the rest follow.
