Durban-based designer Casey Jeanne has made attire for tv presenters Kim Jayde and Zuraida Jardine, actress Kajal Bagwandeen and health specialist, Lisa Raleigh. Jeanne’s pageant look targeted on fabric with in-house designed cloth and her inspiration was texture and highly effective girls.

GEORGES MALELU
Johannesburg-based designer Georges Malelu had the honour of designing a costume for 28-time Grammy-winning singer, Beyoncé in 2018 for the Global Citizen live performance. His inspiration for the Miss SA pageant was Oscar gowns. His pageant feel and look have been copper and platinum.
“I’m including a mermaid silhouette in my designs with structured garments that deliver an element of surprise. I crossover between couture and ready-to-wear and like to create a balance between these two,” mentioned Malelu.
Malelu designed attire for Luvé Meyer and Keaoleboga Nkashe.
JOLANDIE FOUCHE
Jolandie Fouche, based mostly in Potchefstroom, North West, has designed attire for former Miss South Africa titleholders Lalela Mswane, Shudufhadzo Musida and Tamaryn Green. Fouche’s pageant feel and look have been copper and glitter-strewn black velvet ball gowns. Her inspiration was Mzansi’s pure assets.
“When I design a dress for any woman, it’s important to capture her essence within the dress. Also, pageants are extremely competitive so you have to ensure that your dress makes a lasting impression on the judges for all the right reasons, while at the same time, complimenting the contestant and accentuating her beauty and personality.”
Fouche designed attire for Tamsyn Jack and Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri.

JUAN WILLIAM ARIA
Juan William Aria has designed attire for Miss Universe titleholders Demi-Leigh Tebow, Zozibini Tunzi and 947 radio host, Anele Mdoda. Aria’s pageant feel and look have been glamorous, horny and glossy. His inspiration was 90s trend.
“I design with my client in mind, what will work best to accentuate and compliments her best attributes so she can look and feel her most beautiful.”
Aria designed attire for Anarzade Omar and Luyanda Zuma.
ZAMASWAZI MATHOLE
Based in Zola, Soweto, Zamaswazi Mathole has additionally designed attire for earlier Miss South Africa titleholders Shudufhadzo Musida and Lalela Mswane. Mathole’s feel and look have been gold, copper and diamonds. His inspiration was “the rich African earth and everything that lies beneath it”.
“Being one of the designers this year is a dream come true. To be able to showcase your work on an international platform has to be one of the biggest achievements,” he mentioned.
