NORTHERN CAPE – During the continuation of the Safer Festive Season operations, crime intelligence driven actions resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of dagga and the arrest of a 41-year-old suspect in Upington on Sunday, 03 November 2024. The information was operationalised by Crime Intelligence and Upington Border Police and a search was conducted at the identified premises, where dagga valued at approximately R303 450-00 was found and confiscated. Subsequently, a 41-year-old foreign national was arrested for dealing in drugs. The Acting District Commissioner of ZF Mgcawu, Brigadier Peet Coetzee, applauded the members for their swift response in removing the drugs and arresting the suspect and thanked community members who continously provide the police with valuable information.
