GAUTENG – Members of SAPS Ekurhuleni Crime Intelligence in conjunction with Springs Crime Prevention responded to the complaints whereby the suspects were possessing firearms without licences. In the first address, at Mbonani Street, Everest informal settlement in Springs, a 44-year-old African male suspect was found with a revolver firearm with 2 live rounds of ammunition. Members proceeded to another address at Main Street, Everest informal Settlement, whereby a 19-year-old African male was found in possession of a black 9mm (modified replica) with 4 live rounds of ammunition. Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole has commended the members for their swift response in addressing proliferation of unlicensed firearms in the District. Ends
