Community tip-off leads to arrest of undocumented person for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Bronville

BRONVILLE – Members of SAPS Bronville Crime Prevention Unit received information from local residents about a person in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The information was operationalised on 15 March 2024 at about 05:00 and the house was identified in Extension 19 Bronville. A woman was found and it was alleged that she was the girlfriend of the person the police were looking for.

As the police searched the house, a firearm with the serial numbers and one empty magazine were found hidden under the mattress. A 31-year-old woman was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm. The suspect will appear on 18 March 2024 for contravention of the Immigration Act and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
