Media Statement EASTERN CAPE – Libode police station detectives are appealing to members of the community to assist for information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible in the murder of two teenagers aged 16 and 18 ( female and male) gunned down in Marubeni locality, Libode on Saturday, 29 June 2024 between 02:10 and 08:30. It is alleged that the 18-year-old male victim telephonically called the 16-year-old female victim, a learner at Victor Poto High School, at about 02:10 from her residential area in the locality. At about 05:30, the body of the female victim with gunshot wounds on her upper body was found lying in a pool of blood. At about 08:30, the body of the 18-year-old male victim was also found with gunshot wounds on both upper and lower body. Motive for both murders is unknown at this stage and forms part of the investigation.
