Media Statement POTCHEFSTROOM – A crime intelligence driven operation conducted by Mooinooi Detectives resulted in the tracing and arrest of 19-year-old Amogelang Mashaba on Sunday, 23 March 2025. In operationalising information, the team kept observations after obtaining a warrant of arrest and ultimately arrested the suspect. Further investigations linked Mashaba to five cases allegedly committed in Mooinooi as follows: 1. Armed robbery reported on Wednesday, 26 July 2023. 2. Possession of suspected stolen property on Wednesday, 26 July 2023. 3. Armed robbery reported on Friday, 28 July 2023. 4. Armed Robbery reported on Sunday, 18 August 2024. 5. Common Assault reported on Monday, 27 January 2025. He appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 26 March 2025 and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance before the same court on Friday, 04 April 2025. The Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Patrick Asaneng applauded the members for their collaborative efforts that led to the success. Ends
