CHURCH BECAME R20 MILLION RICHER AFTER WICKNELL CHIVAYO VISIT

Apostle Felix Okoh has told his congregation that House of Treasures Ministries became “twenty million richer” after a heavily guarded visitor attended a Johannesburg service at which Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman ministered.

Speaking at the Ownership Conference, Okoh said he had told his wife beforehand that he believed someone would give “five million and above” and suggested that the church’s usual fundraising breakfast should be offered for free.

Okoh said a man he already knew later called to say he was coming to the service, despite not being invited.

According to Okoh, the visitor arrived with heavy security and went with him to the church office after the service.

He said the man later followed him and his wife to the airport to see Selman off.

Okoh said a phone call the following morning left the ministry “twenty million richer”.

He did not name the donor or specify the currency or exact amount in the clip now circulating.

The remarks have attracted attention because they relate to a House of Treasures Ministries gathering attended by the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, in Johannesburg on 26 September 2026.

The couple attended the Vessels of Honour gathering, where Selman ministered. Footage from the service shows Chivayo and Muteke raising their hands during an altar call led by Selman.

Okoh later shared photographs with Selman, Chivayo and Muteke. Chivayo described the gathering as “a great honour and privilege” and a “divine appointment”.

Four days later, on 30 September, Chivayo, Muteke and other occupants died when their helicopter crashed near Marondera, Zimbabwe.

Chivayo’s death has since drawn renewed attention to Okoh’s account, with social media users linking him to the unidentified visitor and putting the alleged donation at R22 million.

However, Okoh does not name Chivayo as the donor. Chivayo was known for making large donations and gifts to religious leaders and other public figures, including cash and luxury vehicles.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged donation have therefore become a subject of renewed public interest following Chivayo’s death.
