Limpopo comedian Livhuwani Madadzhe, widely known as “SABC Livhu,” appeared today at the Thohoyandou Magistrates’ Court facing charges of motor vehicle theft and fraud.
Authorities allege that Madadzhe rented a BMW X3 from Avis and engaged in fraudulent activities by posing as a representative of various car rental companies on social media, offering vehicles for hire under false pretenses.
In addition to these charges, Madadzhe is currently standing trial in the Thohoyandou High Court (sitting at the Waterval Magistrates’ Court) for the murder of his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela, 32, and two counts of fraud.
He is accused of killing his wife and disposing of her body on their property, as well as falsifying his mother’s death and death certificate to claim a funeral policy payout.
At the time of these alleged crimes, Madadzhe was out on R50,000 bail, with conditions that included no interference with state witnesses, no further criminal activity, and regular reporting to the Sandton Police Station twice a week.
The court has postponed the case to 18 March 2025 for a bail application, with the High Court trial set to resume on 17 March 2025
